Oakdene Footbridge Replacement, Finchley

This was a challenging project due to the location within a park in Finchley with limited access on both sides. The existing 8m long x 1.2m wide timber bridge over Dollis Brook was in urgent need of replacement. We undertook the entire project for the JV. The existing bridge was removed and the existing abutments part demolished. Extensions were cast each side of the abutments followed by a new reinforced concrete cill beam for the new, wider, bridge. The new bridge is constructed of steel and needed to be delivered in pieces due to the access restrictions. We installed the bridge along with the bearings and joints. The bridge was landscaped each side with new approach paths and timber bollards. Works were completed ahead of schedule.
