Huntingdon Close Bridge Refurbishment, Broxbourne

This small project was completed in collaboration with Browne and involved the refurbishment of a New River pedestrian bridge which was in dire need of repair and improvement.

We proposed a new parapet system, paint repair and bridge surfacing to complete the works. A temporary scaffold bridge was installed to maintain access for pedestrians. All materials had to be moved by hand as the access was up a narrow footpath from the main road 200m away.

The parapet system was designed with this in mind. A second bridge was also completed a short distance away which involved the complete removal and replacement of the pedestrian bridge which was approx. 500m away from any access point.

The replacement bridge was fabricated in sections and put together on site to avoid heavy machinery and the disturbance of the local habitat.
