Landguard Point – Wardens Facility Improvements

These works involved improvements to the existing warden’s facility at Landguard Point in Felixstowe including works to the bungalow and garages.

Works on the bungalow included replacement doors and windows, damp proofing and new plaster, insecticide treatment to roof timbers, repointing brickwork and remedials to the roof and guttering.

The adjacent garages were built during the war. A number of extensions were demolished but during the site clearance it was discovered that the garage structure due to remain was in an unacceptable condition.

HHA subsequently instructed the complete demolition and rebuild of the main garage building. Works also included building a covered area for school visits to Landguard Point.
