Victoria Embankment – New River Thames Mooring Facility – Flood Wall

Woods River Cruises appointed Amicus to undertake concrete works at their new mooring facility along the Victoria Embankment at Waterloo Bridge.

The location provided many challenges. Not only in the centre of London but also access was required across the busy cycle way and the embankment footpath which had to remain open for the general public at all times.

The works involved the demolition of the existing flood defence wall which had to be coordinated with the construction of a new RC concrete flood wall so that flood protection was maintained.

Once demolition was completed new RC pads were constructed for the new access brow, steel steps and ramps.

Works also included the relaying of large yorkstone paving slabs at the eastern brow location.
