Trinity Pier, Harwich – Replacement Cable Tray

We were contracted by Trinity House to replace the cable tray system under their pier in Harwich which had become corroded and was missing many sections resulting in cables becoming loose. We coordinated these works with our work on Ha’Penny Pier entrance to enable significant savings for the client because we could maximise the access under the pier with the tides every day and when tides prohibited work we continued with the Ha’Penny Pier works. We gained access every day using a safety boat and pontoon system. We drilled and fixed anchors into the pier soffit then installed studding and GRP unistrut which we fixed whilst lifting the cables so they were contained. We then removed the sections of old cable tray and support followed by installation of new GRP cable tray.
