Replacement River Deck – Burnham-on-Crouch

The hotel overlooks the River Crouch which is tidal and has had a deck over the river for decades. The existing deck had become unsafe due to rotten wooden deck and supports. We developed the basic design to ensure it was practical to build and fitted the site conditions. Works involved the installation of a scaffold platform and edge protection then removal of the entire existing deck structure followed by reconstruction using a galvanised steel frame support with hardwood deck beams and anti-slip oak decking. A new timber post and handrail parapet was installed to mimic the old one which also incorporated the newly painted old steel infill panels.
