We are an established Essex based contractor capable of undertaking a wide variety of civil engineering and marine projects operating throughout East Anglia, London and the South East of England.
The business was formed in early 2012 and is run by two directors with a vast amount of experience and knowledge within the construction industry.
With a strong customer backed reputation for quality and service, our expertise and reliability attracts most of our work through repeat business and the recommendation of existing customers. With our friendly and hands-on approach we keep you fully informed at every stage giving you complete peace of mind and confidence throughout your project. We ensure our projects are delivered safely, on time and to the specified quality. We achieve this by delivering a non-confrontational work ethic and by employing the best people and specialist trade subcontractors.

We formed Amicus Civil Engineering in early 2012 with our aim to deliver unique and challenging projects whilst maintaining personal and direct contact with our clients.
When you engage with Amicus you will deal directly with Dave Gibson and Dave Wadsworth, our two directors, at all stages of your project with our commitment that we will always base one of us on site to plan, manage, supervise and deliver the works.

Dave has been in the civil engineering industry for over 30 years and has been a Chartered Civil Engineer for over 20 years. He spent 8 years with Balfour Beatty Major Projects on M25, M20 and A13 projects before joining VolkerFitzpatrick for 14 years as a Project Manager/Contracts Manager on a variety of infrastructure projects including Mile End Park, CTRL Temple Mills Depot, Olympic Park, Athletes Village and Westfield Shopping Centre. Dave holds SMSTS, CSCS, CPCS and First Aid qualifications.

Dave has been in the construction industry for over 25 years. Having attained an HND in Civil & Structural Engineering he worked for Pryor Earthmoving for 13 years where he progressed to Contracts Manger and, whilst working, gained a degree in Quantity Surveying. Key projects included Bluewater Shopping Centre, A12/ M11 link road, A130, Northala Fields Park and Stansted Airport. Dave then set up his own Earthworks company and delivered a variety of works such as the Wetlands in the Athletes Village. Dave holds SMSTS, CSCS, CPCS and First Aid qualifications.
